2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Rich aromas of blackberry jam with hints of menthol and aged pipe tobacco.  The flavors are rich with ripe fruit – blackberries, cherries, currants – with hints of violets, anise and fresh cut cedar.  The finish is long with a slight minerality that accentuates the brightness of this jammy fruit bomb.
This is my 5th release of Stormy Weather starting with the 2006 vintage (I was not satisfied with the 2010 & 2011.  They will not be released) and is a serious contender for my best effort to date.  An extroverted wine of sweet ripeness, beauty and grace.  Drinking well now yet will be at its best within the next few years and will drink well through 2030.

James Laube of Wine Spectator scored it 90 points against stiff competition in the great 2007 vintage. Firm, dense and chewy, offering a tight core of mineral-infused dried currant, blackberry and graphite, with cedary touches. Full-bodied and at points rough-hewn, yet for its rustic edges this delivers a concentrated mix of complex flavors and very good structure. Best from 2011 through 2020.
